In addition to the legislation outlined in the previous section, there are numerous regulatory standards which may apply to particular types of promotional activities. The primary codes of practice which promotional companies should take into consideration are the following:
- Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland
- The BCI Children’s Advertising Code
- MEAS Code of Practice on the naming, packaging and promotion of alcoholic drinks
MEAS point of sale promotions and serving of multiple drinks – the standards for the management or responsible drinks promotions and sale of multiple product servings.
